Mauri Virtanen art works Beside painting, I enjoy very much taking photos and designing whatever I can, my great passion for photography was born during the wonderful trips through Europe I did in the past and my passion for design was born during my experience as student of architecture.
When I take a photo I try to capture a moment, a portrait of nature, that is the special thing of that, as an admirer of nature I prefer to do landscape photography and wildlife photography.
In the other hand, the best way to show you my photos is enhancing its beauty with graphic design, then according the time, I worked in some projects, here I want to present the most important ones.

These postcards are based on photos that I took during a diversity of trips I did across the country, this one shows the Chimborazo mountain, the highest one in Ecuador, it was one of the most beautiful days of my life (21. 06. 2005), let´s imagine a complete blue sky at the foot of this mountain, great!

3.- Christmas card in four languages, 1 card, 2006.
I did a good use of the beauty of one of the Christmas tree that we have in my house to design this card, this tree is full of animals living in cold areas. NOT AVAILABLE!
4.- Christmas card "Merry Christmas....", 5 different cards, 2007. Another kind of Christmas cards. NOT AVAILABLE!
5.- Calendar : “ECUADOR a wonderful country in South america 2008”, 2007. It is a 3 languages calendar, Spanish, German and English, and collects the best photos I took through the years. Every single one of them shows a different face of this country, sadly what it lacks is more photos of the Costa region and Galápagos, but in future they will be taken, I promise! NOT AVAILABLE! 
2008 “THE YEAR OF THE FLOWERS FOR MAURI VIRTANEN”
I love flowers, as an architect and artist I like colors and shapes, according my point of view, nature uses very well both stuffs,. The best example are flowers, I am devoted to take photos of flowers in a wide diversity of places, even on the streets!, I have found also a wide diversity of shapes and colors of flowers. 6.- Postcards “Flowers of ECUADOR”, 8 different postcards , 2008. This is the first project about flowers, this one is an orchidea, it lasts just one day, it is born very early in the morning and in the last hours of the day, it dies.
